'Day of Infamy' changes county's direction in 1941

Some students work on projects at Carbon High to be sent to servicemen during World War II. When the United States entered World War II the country sent more than soldiers and materials to the front lines to battle the enemy. Almost from the beginning civilians started not only producing war materials, but anything that could make the soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen's lives easier. At Carbon High School Tuesday wasn't just Tuesday anymore, but it was the day that students brought their pennies, dimes and dollars to the school to contribute to the war effort. They also didn't forget the wounded who came back from the war either. They responded to the appeal of the Red Cross for kit bags, books, decorations, Christmas gifts and anything that would make life more bearable for the men who had given so much to protect the country.
