Violette Mullins

DOWNEY, Calif. - Violette E. Mullins, born 1923, went home to God May 24, 2006.

A wonderful mother to Wes Landberg and Jan Landberg and loving wife to Moon. Her career with Western Electric (installation and service division of the original telephone company) began in 1953 in order to pay for her son's tonsillectomy. She liked to work so much, plus the regular paycheck, she stayed and retired in 1983. During that business career she helped 142 bosses with their workload. Gardening was her therapy.

Telephone Pioneers of America was one of her true loves. She filled several offices within Los Companeros Life Member, Mixed Club over the years, plus 31 years as editor of the newsletter and thousands of hours of volunteer work. She gave generously to many charities and supported political causes she felt would make life better for us all.

She always had a smile and kind word for everyone. A gentle soul full of wisdom and humility that was always evident in her poetry.

Vi is survived by her husband of 46 years, Moon; son, Wes, and daughter-in-law, Claudia, of Price; daughter, Jan, and son-in-law, Paul Moffatt, of Downey, Calif.; three grandchildren, Debi, Jenny and Danny, and five great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by loving parents, Amy and Ervin Heitkamp; and cherished siblings, Marylou, Ernest, Phyllis and June.


Robert Blackburn

PRICE - Robert "Bob" Lavon Blackburn, 64, passed away Aug. 22, 2006.

He was born June 26, 1942 in Compton, Calif., to Albert L. and Stella Brown Blackburn. Bob married Sue Lynn Hazel on May 25, 1965 in Price. They have five children, Scott, Rodney, Susan, Ryan and Shawna.

His family was everything to him. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Bob was a great provider for his family and developed many skills in the process. He spent many years working as a coal miner, welder and construction worker. Bob has been retired for the last six years. He has enjoyed the extra time to spend with his grandkids and take care of the yard. Everyone who knew Bob was charmed by his humor and will miss him.

He enjoyed having family barbecues and watching westerns, baseball and NASCAR.

He is survived by wife, Sue; three sons, Scott (Alayna) Blackburn; Rodney (Renee) Blackburn, both of Vernal; Ryan (Jahn) Blackburn of Jensen; two daughters, Susan Guymon of Vernal; and Shawna Blackburn of Las Vegas, Nev.; parents, Albert and Stella Blackburn of Vernal; mother-in-law, Hester Hazel of Vernal; 19 grandchildren; brother, Rick Blackburn of Tahoe, Calif.; three sisters, Kimmy Blackburn of Vernal; Karen Williams and Cammie Blackburn, both of Brea, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by son-in-law, Devin Guymon of Vernal; brother, Kenneth Blackburn of Vernal; sister, Geneal Richard of Salt Lake; and grandparents.

Funeral services were Aug. 26, at the Thomson-Blackburn Vernal Mortuary. Burial, Vernal Memorial Park.
