Geraldine Jones

SUNNYSIDE - Geraldine Jones "Grandma Geri" passed away July 29, 2006 at the Price hospital surrounded by loving family.

Grandma Geri was born Dec. 11, 1929 in Orangeville to Alvin and Elverta Johnson. Married Keith R. Jones on May 21, 1946 in Orangeville.

Grandma Geri was known for her stout heart and strong work ethics, indeed she was a very independent woman. That did not however prevent her from sharing love with all those whose lives she touched. She welcomed all those who came to her doorstep with open arms.

She loved hunting, fishing and gardening. As a seamstress Grandma Geri made clothes for her children and grandchildren.

She worked at Korets of California as a seamstress for many years.

One of Grandma Geri's most admirable traits was her love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her love stemmed from the fact that she herself was young at heart. It was not an uncommon thing to see her climbing trees or playing games with her grandchildren, games that she herself instigated. She was full of love for all. In her later years many friends from Joe's Valley came to her aid, such was the impact of the lives she touched.

Grandma Geri was loved by her children, her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren, and many friends. She will be missed by all.

The family thanks Community Nursing Home Health and staff, with a special thank you to Tisa and Alysia for their extra loving care.

She is survived by children, Roger and Susan Jensen, Castle Dale; Russell and Jacka Jones, Castle Dale; John and Kathryn Lozinsky, Hayden, Colo.; Roger and Carla Jones, East Carbon; Don and Peggy Swanson, American Fork; 21 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren. Siblings, Leonard Johnson, LaNore Porter, Lucille Griffiths, and Judy Durffee. Grandma Geri was preceded in death by parents; husband, Keith; and son, David.

Memorial services will be at Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale on Wednesday, Aug. 2, at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to services under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests charitable donations to the donor's choice of charity.
