After an awaking of the bats at last Wednesday's game against South Sevier, the Carbon High School softball team offense again fell silent.

The Carbon girls were unable to put a single run across in another region loss on Thursday at Granite, as they fell 3-1 to the Lady Farmers.

The team was only able to manage two hits against a powerful Granite squad.

Carbon did play well on the defensive side, not allowing any big innings by the Salt Lake team. But two runs here and two runs there add up in the long haul, especially when the team is not getting any runs of their own.

Tuesday afternoon saw the team hosting the Delta Rabbits at home.

Earlier in the season the Dinos had played their best game of the year against the Lady Rabbits. The 3-1 loss was the closest the team came to a victory this year.

On Tuesday the Dinos jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first and the girls felt like they could finally take a win.

But Delta climbed right back with a five run second inning and Carbon added one of their own The game went into the third tied up. Delta sent four more home in the third with the Dinos answering with three of their own.

It looked like a win was possible and then the Carbon offense sputtered. Unfortunately, unlike the home team, the Rabbits kept on running. Delta put 14 more runs on the board to blow the game wide open.

Carbon dropped to 0-7 in region play. They will head to Emery on Thursday to try to find a way to put one win in the books.

The girls will be playing for school pride in the long time rivalry against Emery.
