By the end of 2006, UDOT plans to begin or complete at least 10 major improvements between Spanish Fork and Green River:
• Mileposts 195 - 197 and 210 - 215. Near the site of the explosion in August and Soldier Summit to Scofield Junction, passing lanes are slated to be added.
• Milepost 200. The bridge over the Union Pacific Railroad will be replaced.
• Mileposts 200 - 204. The Tucker rest area is scheduled to be relocated.
• Mileposts 215 - 222. The stretch of highway between Scofield Junction and Pine Tree Park, will be expanded to five lanes.
• Mileposts 223 - 231. General improvements to the road will fix highway problems.
• Milepost 233. New interchange is planned for the crossing of North Main in Helper.
• Mileposts 250 - 256. From Ridge Road to Sunnyside Junction, the highway will be widened to five lanes.
• Milepost 288. The bridge near Woodside will be rehabilitated.
• Mileposts 288 - 300. The pavement will be rehabilitated as the highway approaches Interstate 70.
