Tips for falls


Balance difficulties and falls are a tremendous concern for older adults. One way to avoid the need for hospital stays is to take care to prevent falls, since falls are one of the main reasons that older persons are admitted to hospitals or long term institutions.

Lee Nielson, P.T. with Mountain Land and Rehabilitation, Inc. works with the local senior citizens. In a recent newsletter Nielson talks about falls and balance. Some of the major ingredients are posture, blood regulation, brain input, strength, flexibility and the environment. Developing flexibility is one way of avoiding balance problem
