In the final qualifying meet of the year on Jan. 15 at Park City the Carbon High diving team did well.
In the boys division, Michael Glasson led the team by placing in fourth place overall. Phillip Noyes places sixth and had his highest score so far this season as he did so.
Jacob Perez finished 10th overall and continues to improve his technique and form on most of his dives.
The girls team also did well. Lyn'D Anderson placed fifth as she rolled to her highest score of the year.
Mikaleen Loveless recovered after one failed dive to take seventh.
Both girls seem to take turns finishing just one place apart in meet after meet.
"We never know who is going to be on, or more competitive, on any particular day," says diving coach Stewart Foster.
Katie Hobbs finished 15th overall.
In the six dive group Brittany Horrocks finished second.
The team will now go to Bear River High School in Tremonton on Jan. 21 for the region meet, which includes all 3A schools.
The state meet will take place on Feb. 3 at BYU. Diving is the only sport in the state where all the school classifications compete with one another for a single state championship.
