Louis and Claudette Mele were named as the Utah High School Activities Association super fans during the state wrestling tournament and awarded a plaque for their support of Utah's youth.
Carbon High School also recognized the pair of sport enthusiasts with a plaque from the student body and the faculty.

Both attended University of Utah where Louis played baseball and basketball for the Utes.
They then moved to Vernal for six years where Louis began teaching and coaching.
