An early evening collision on Main Street and 700 East in Price injured three people and rerouted traffic for a while on Tuesday.

According to the Price Police Department, about 7 p.m. a car driven eastbound on Main Street by Destiny Hansen, 19, of Price, went through the red light at 700 East. In doing so it struck a northbound pickup truck driven by Jessica Gallegos, 27, of Price as her vehicle crossed through the intersection on the green light.

The collision crushed the side of the Hansen car and demolished the front end of the truck.

Hansen also had Matt Richardson, 19, of Price as a passenger in her vehicle.

All the occupants of both vehicles were injured in the accident and had to be transported to Castleview Hospital. Two of them apparently lost consciousness after the accident.

"Ms. Hansen said that she saw the red light," said Price Police Officer David Wilkinson on Wednesday morning. "She was cited for failure to yield the right of way."

Wilkinson said that no drugs or alcohol were involved in the accident. He also said it wasn't clear if Gallegos or Richardson were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident, but that Hansen was.

Crews from the Price Fire Department cleaned up the street and the intersection was open again just after 7:30 p.m.
