Pinnacle's next two games come against Region 19 rivals Monticello and Green River

With two games coming up against the top Region 19 teams, the Pinnacle High boys basketball team has a chance to solidify their spot near the top of the region standings this week.

After going 1-1 at home over the weekend, including a 73-41 win over Navajo Mountain on Jan 24 and an 81-54 loss to Monument Valley on Jan. 25, the Panthers will face a tough stretch of region games starting this week.

The Panthers, 4-11 overall and 3-2 in Region 19 play, will travel to region leading Monticello for a game on Jan. 31 at 7 p.m.

Following their game with Monticello, the Panthers will then host Green River on Wednesday, Feb. 5. The Pirates are another team just above the Panthers in the standings and a win would help vault the Panthers into second place in Region 19.

The next two games could help determine Pinnacle's spot in the 1A playoffs or they could find themselves on the outside looking in.
