McDonalds lends a helping hand

McDonalds employees take a break while serving hungry customers on Price's Main Street. On Tuesday night, the McDonalds crew gave half of all over the county proceeds to Wellington Elementary during the school's second McTeacher night.

For the second year, the Price McDonalds is working with the Carbon District to help local schools raise money. Wellington Elementary was the first school to conduct a McTeacher night for the second year, splitting proceeds with McDonalds on Jan. 28.

The McTeacher program provides money to local schools by giving 50 percent of their proceeds over a two hour period to a given school.

On Tuesday night from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wellington residents packed the Main Street fast food staple as everyone inside who purchased over the counter products was effectively donating half their money to the local elementary.

According to Wellington Kindergarten Teacher Brenna Penry, the night was a major success as Wellington was the first Carbon District School to use the program for a second year.
