Jerry L. West
PRICE- Our loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend, Jerry L. West, age 80 passed away peacefully Jan. 26, 2014 at Parkdale Care Center in Price while surrounded by his loving family.

He was born Oct. 29, 1933 in Moab to Joseph Leonard and Verda Allred West.

Married Wanda Hoffman in 1952. They later divorced. He then married Betty L. Hight in 1971 and their marriage was later sealed for time and eternity on July 28, 2006 in the Manti Temple.

Jerry was a graduate of Grand County High School class of 1952. He worked in numerous mines in Moab and Price area. He worked several jobs in Alaska including the Trans Alaskan Pipeline and he later retired from the Labor's Union. Jerry loved landscaping and gardening. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends.

Jerry was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints where he served in many capacities. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survived by his loving wife, Betty L. West, Price; children, Jim (Kristy) West, Anchorage, Alaska, Sherri (Gary) Joiner, Conroe, Texas, Jay West, Price, Joe West, Moab; step-children, Erna (Larry) Ganser, Deborah (Earl) Kirkwood; 20 grandchildren and many great and great great grandchildren; sister, Rhea Branch, Wellington.

Funeral Service, Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, 5:30 p.m. Carbonville LDS ward (2000 West 4000 North, Spring Glen). Family will receive friends Thursday one hour prior to service. Graveside, Friday, Jan. 31, 2014, 1 p.m. Grand Valley Cemetery, Moab. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Jerry online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net. In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations to the LDS missionary fund.
