USU Eastern guard Bryanna Adams had 12 points and six rebounds in the 71-63 win over Snow College on Jan. 9.
With a 3-2 record through the early part of the Scenic West Athletic Conference schedule, USU Eastern women's basketball head coach Dave Paur knows the hard work put in the offseason has paid off.
The Lady Eagles split a weekend road trip with a 71-63 win over Snow College on Thursday, Jan. 9 but followed that up with an 82-63 loss to Salt Lake CC on Saturday, Jan. 11.
In the win over Snow College, the Lady Eagles picked up the critical win despite being out rebounded 44-34. Instead they capitalized on offense by making 11-of-33 3-pointers and forcing Snow into 36 turnovers.
"Getting those turnovers helped us get the win because we didn't shoot particularly well," said Paur.
Against SLCC, the Lady Eagles allowed them to shoot 51 percent from the floor, including making eight 3 -pointers on offense.
"They stopped us on defense and they just ran better than us on offense," Paur said.
Now ahead for the Lady Eagles is the annual brutal road trip to play College of Southern Idaho and North Idaho College.
"It's a vicious road trip for us," Paur said. "We'll definitely have our hands full in trying to win those games."
