A Price resident is dead after a head-on crash Monday morning near the East Price interchange along US 6.

Utah Highway Patrol identified the driver as 51-year-old Kelly F. Wise, of Price.

In a press release, the UHP reported that Wise was driving a 1991 Toyota Camry eastbound along the East Price interchange around 7:52 a.m. when she drifted into the westbound lane, striking an oncoming 2011 Nissan Rogue head-on at mile post 243.

The UHP said that Wise, who was not wearing a seatbelt, died as a result of her injuries.

The three occupants in the Nissan were all wearing seatbelts and sustained minor injuries.

The crash shut down both lanes of the highway through the early morning hours. Traffic was later opened in both lanes shortly after Noon.

The investigation into the crash is still ongoing but weather conditions were not considered to be a factor in the crash, UHP said.
