A report of suspicious activity at the National 9 Inn in Price led to one drug-related arrest and two arrests for other causes Wednesday morning.

Carbon County Deputy Sheriff Shawn Addley was responding as backup for Price Police at 11:30 a.m. when he saw one person running away from a parked car. He found three others remaining in the car.

Addley said he obtained permission from the car's owner to search. He found three safes inside.

The safes belonged to Forest Arthur Johnson, 18, of Price. Johnson gave permission to search, according to the deputy.

That led to the discovery of a firearm, 13 grams of methamphetamine, six grams of heroin and assorted drug paraphernalia.

Johnson was arrested and booked into Carbon County jail for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute heroin, possession of parapernalia and possession of a firearm by a restricted person. The drug charges were in a drug-free zone.

A second person, Brandy Hares, 23, Price, was arrested and booked for outstanding warrant.

The runaway, Andrew Dickerson, 23, Price was arrested a few blocks away by Sheriff's Detectives Mike Hreinson and Roger Taylor. He was booked for failure to stop at the command of an officer.

Officers from Price and Helper were also involved in the search, Addley said.
