USU Eastern men off to quick start in new season

USU Eastern men's basketball head coach Adjalma Becheli is now in second season at the helm of the Golden Eagles.

With a number of new additions to the team, the USU Eastern men's basketball team wasted little time in hitting the ground running to start the new season.

The Golden Eagles came away from the College of Southern Idaho Eagle Tournament on Nov. 1 and 2 with a 2-0 record.

USU Eastern defeated South Mountain 92-69 on Nov. 1 and followed that up with a 70-50 victory over Central Wyoming College on Nov. 2.

Kendahl Amerson averaged 17.5 points per game over the tournament.

The Golden Eagle defense also stepped up holding their opponents to an average of 59.5 points per game.

USU Eastern will pack their bags again as they head down to Yuma, Ariz., for another tournament from Nov. 7-8. The Golden Eagles are scheduled to play Arizona Western College and Tohono O'odham Community College.
