Morgan Lund, shown here on the Rio Theatre stage in Henry Miller's 'The Price,' is a veteran actor.
Helper actor Morgan Lund has a starring role in a Discovery Channel mini-series that debuts Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. Lund plays the leader of a small band of Boston adventurers headed for the California gold rush of 1848-49.
The docu-drama is titled "Gold Fever." It is produced by Stephen David Entertainment, the group which recently won Emmy Awards for "The Men Who Built America."
Lund says his character won't last through the whole series. "I go back east to be a banker," he said in an interview Wednesday.
Lund was the force behind a full season of live theater in Helper three years ago. His OtherSide Players group performed in well-known plays ranging from comedy to drama on the Rio Theatre stage. He has also worked solo and with small group performances in conjunction with the Helper Arts Festival.
