As a devoted husband whose epic love affair with his beloved wife, Jeanne Diane Wright of 56 years. Tom, you definitely left nothing undone!
Tom had a deep love for Carbon County and was proud to be recognized as one of the four horsemen of teammates who galloped through a glorious undefeated season that united a community and brought home the Utah State Football Championship to Carbon High in 1951. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Tom shared a great love for the outdoors. He enjoyed camping, snowmobiling, spending time with family and friends and especially hanging out with "The Gang" at the cabin in Scofield. Tom spent many winters snowmobiling over every inch of terrain in Scofield and because of his excellent riding skills he even had a hill named after him. Tom warmed the hearts of all and his witty observations and unique sense of humor brought great joy to those around him.
If one asked Tom what he did for a living, he would reply "I'm a coal miner". Tom was one of the first group of longwallers in North America and he was proud of it. His knowledge and advancement of longwall mining was an asset to Carbon County.
