HELPER - Clifford Hreinson Bergera of proud Icelandic-Italian decent died on Friday, Sept. 27, 2013 at the age of 69.

He was born in Price to Grace Hreinson and James Joseph (Chokey) Bergera on March 2, 1944.

Clifford was a longtime resident of Carbon County and graduate of Wasatch Academy High School in 1962. On Dec. 6, 1968 he married the love of his life, Janet Gail Jackson in Salt Lake City. He later graduated from Utah State University with a BFA and MFA Degree in 1969. Cliff was staff artist at the Hansen Planetarium until 1973 when he returned to Helper to aid with the family owned wholesale beverage company, Helper Mercantile.

While residing in Carbon County, Cliff was able to exhibit his artistic and teaching skills as Professor of Art at the College of Eastern Utah in Price. He eventually retired to pursue his passion for golf and to paint remarkable works of art. He was kind to everyone, funny, loveable and unforgettable. Cliff leaves behind a legacy of art that will be cherished for generations.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Bergera; daughter, Lisa Jorgensen (Nate), grandchildren, Collin, Madeline, and Carter; sister-in-law, Anne Bergera; and nephew, Joe Bergera (Alice).

Preceded in death by his parents and brothers Dee and Jerry.

Funeral service, Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013, 11 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home (233 East Main Street) in Price. Family will be at Mitchell's Monday evening from 6 - 7 p.m. and Tuesday one hour prior to services. Interment, Mt. View Cemetery, Helper. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Cliff online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
