On their toughest road trip of the season, the Pinnacle High Lady Panthers returned home with a split over the weekend.

The Lady Panthers picked up a five set win over Navajo Mountain (25-16, 19-25, 25-23, 17-25, 15-10) on Friday evening before falling in three sets to Monument Valley (12-25, 18-25, 13-25) on Saturday afternoon.

PHS head coach Heidi Kay said the long bus ride "usually takes a toll on the team".

"We played well at Monument Valley and had a lot of long rallies but we were not able to finish off to get the point and our passing was not as good as it has been before," said Kay.

Now the Lady Panthers will focus on honing their team skills as they prepare to host Green River on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 6:15 p.m.
