Zombies run wild

It was a tough go on Saturday afternoon at the Carbon County Fairgrounds.

First the runners in a two mile obstacle race had to avoid the Zombies and then they had to put up with some well-armed National Guardsmen who insisted that they stop and do exercises in the middle of their run.

It was all in good fun as around 100 people ran the course. The Zombies took off first and positioned themselves around the course to harass the runners.

Then the National Guard practiced their drill instructor skills on runners getting them to do things like jumping jacks, push ups and other exercises before racers could move on down the course.

It was all part of the beginning of a 60-day fitness challenge to residents of Carbon and Emery Counties sponsored by the Utah National Guard, the Boys and Girls Club of Carbon County and AVAR LifeStyle Design.

The race was followed by an Apocalypse Party and a lot of fun.
