Carbon High's Kylie Paige finished with a big hat trick, netting three goals for the Lady Dinos in a 3-2 win.
Kylie Paige scored three goals for the Carbon High girls soccer team as they defeated Richfield 3-2 on Thursday afternoon.
Paige scored two goals in the first half and added a third in the second half to complete the hat trick and help the Lady Dinos to their first Region 12 win this season. Carbon goalkeeper Jaylie Jensen also had a strong game as she made a number of saves to help keep the lead intact.
With the win, the Lady Dinos snapped a five-game losing streak that saw them get outscored by their opponents 33-2.
"This was a huge win for us as a team," said co-head coach Tracy Brady. "The girls know they can win games like this and they're starting to gain confidence because of that."
Carbon is now 1-1-0 in Region 12 play and 2-6-0 overall. The team will travel on Tuesday Sept. 17 to Payson for a game starting at 4 p.m. This is the first of three straight road games for the team before returning home on Oct. 1.
