Billy Bakern

Billy Baker

PRICE - Our loving son, brother, husband, uncle, and father, Billy Joe, "BJ", "Bro" Baker, chose to end his pain and suffering in a place he loved, Aug. 1, 2013.

He was born April 20, 1971 in Price to Lyle and Shawna Carol Askern Baker.

Billy was a mass of contradictions. He was strong as an ox but fragile as a leaf. He could be impulsive and reckless but also sensitive and giving. He could be serious and intense but he also had an unquenchable and mischievous sense of humor. He was a man but still a child. He was frequently frustrating but always loveable. He taught his nephews to fish, how to select quality tools and to appreciate nature. When he put his mind to it he could work longer and harder than the next guy. He was a farmer, welder, heavy equipment operator, carpenter, miner, oiler and an all-around handyman. Unfortunately, he never reached his full potential. He enjoyed drinking, fishing, hunting and spending time outdoors for more than four decades. He especially loved flying pigeons with his father.

Billy joins his mother Shawna in a better place where peace and comfort resides in heaven's happy hunting grounds.

He leaves behind his father Lyle Baker, his sisters Jody (Matt) Wenner, Sandi (Michael) Blackham, adopted brother Travis Williams, nephews Caine, Lakota and Corbin along with his son JD, stepson Bonham and his wife Theresa Baker, the love of his life until the end.

As per Billy's wishes there will be no viewing but friends and family can stop by the farm located at 1497 S. 2000 E. after the funeral to re-tell stories he can no longer tell himself. Billy was kind enough to plant enough weeds in the potato field for everyone to take one as a remembrance while you are there.

Funeral service Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013, 11 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home, 233 East Main, Price. Family will be at Mitchell's Wednesday one hour prior to services. Interment Price City Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home where friends can share memories of Billy at
