Helper American Legion baseball players do their best to keep themselves cool out in the hot sun during an 11-7 win over West on Saturday.
Helper wasn't just playing a league game against West on Saturday afternoon at the Helper Ballfield.
They were also playing against a much more harsh opponent.
In a game that started at Noon and with temperatures reaching the century mark, Helper took an early lead but needed a three-run bottom of the fifth inning to come away with an 11-7 win over West.
Helper's Jaren McCourt provided the power for the team with a home run late in the game that helped extend the lead for Helper.
The two teams combined for 32 hits as Helper took an early 6-0 lead before West answered with five runs in the top of the third inning.
Helper hosted Corner Canyon on Monday evening and will play a doubleheader on Tuesday with games against Price at 4 p.m. at the USU Eastern Ballfield and against East at 7 p.m. at the Helper Ballfield.
