Contractors work on placing new water lines on 700 North on Wednesday morning. The road is expected to be closed until the end of July.
With the summer season just recently underway, Price City residents will be seeing plenty of orange construction cones and equipment throughout the next few months.
Some work including the road closure on 700 North will continue through the month of July, according to Gary Sonntag, Price City Public Works director.
Contractors are busy replacing installing water pipes along the road. Once the pipes are in place, road grading will begin. Construction is scheduled to be completed by the beginning of August, but Sonntag said the work and the road could be opened by the end of July.
With the road being closed, Sonntag said the city and the contractors have worked with local businesses to ensure that access to and parking for those businesses would still be available throughout the construction.
Other work in the city is taking place at Washington Park.
Sonntag said things are coming along well as the basketball court is nearing completion and the horseshoe pits are being worked on.
"Things are slowly taking shape," said Sonntag.
The work at Washington Park is expected to be finished before International Days at the end of July.
Construction work is also occuring on 300 West. Sonntag said Questar is replacing supply lines in the area, changing from metal pipes to plastic pipes.
