The 2013 Relay for Life begins with the Survivors' Lap Friday night on the USU Eastern track.
The track and field at the USU Eastern campus were filled with booths, tents and hikers over the weekend as hundreds of people showed up for the annual Relay for Life.
Twenty-five teams with about 150 members took part this year, according to Jerri Timothy, who chaired this year's event. Add to that the people who came by to support the teams and the total number of people was probably more than 300, she said.
The Relay is a major fund raiser for the American Cancer Society, which spearheads the battle against cancer.
Timothy said the goal this year is $30,000, but it is too soon to tell because not all contributions and pledges had been counted as of Monday.
