If early season play is any indication, then the Helper American Legion Baseball Tournament may have gotten a lot more interesting.
Both the Price and Helper American Legion baseball teams are off to good starts this season and are looking to grab local bragging rights with the early season game between the two rivals.
Helper defeated Hillcrest 13-3 at home on Monday night. They took an early 4-1 lead and scored in every inning but the third on their way to the mercy rule win.
Price took on Olympus on Monday night at home and after two scoreless innings, Price broke through with one run in the third and six runs in the fourth to take a commanding 7-0 lead. They added four runs in the fifth to get the 11-1 mercy rule win.
Helper and Price will play on Thursday night (June 20) at the Helper Baseball Field at 8 p.m.
The six team tournament also includes Cyprus, Pineview, Westlake and Utah's Perfect Game.
There will be two divisions: Red which includes Helper, Cyprus and Pineview, and black which includes Price, Westlake and Utah's Perfect Game.
Games begin at 9 a.m. on Friday and Saturday mornings and the final games on Sunday began at 10 a.m. with the championship at 1 p.m.
