Price police arrested a 22-year-old Price man Saturday and booked him into Carbon County Jail on charges of armed robbery.

The arrest of Joseph McKinnon resulted from a nine-month investigation of a holdup at the Greenwell Motel last Aug. 28. Two men held a shotgun on a female clerk and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police also said it is expected that the Carbon County Attorney's Office will file formal charges against McKinnon's alleged partner, 20-year-old Demce Perri, also of Price. According to court records, Perri is serving up to five years in the Utah State Prison for use or possession of a controlled substance in Duchesne County.

He was out on bail from Duchesne County Jail and already facing trial for the drug charges there when the Greenwell robbery took place in Price.

Perri pleaded guilty in Eighth Judicial District Court to the use or possession charge on Sept. 27, 2012. He was awaiting sentencing when he was arrested and jailed on Oct. 20 in Carbon County for drug use or possession, paraphernalia and possession of a firearm by a restricted person.

He pleaded and was found guilty in Seventh District Court on three of those charges on Nov. 16.

The Eighth District in Duchesne sentenced him to not more than five years in the State Prison on May 23.
