After successful home meet, several Carbon High athletes now preparing for state meet

After a long season filled with practices and plenty of meets, several Carbon High athletes are preparing for the final stretch of the season as a group of athletes will be heading to BYU for the state meet later this week.

CHS head coach Jimmy Jewkes said the team did well at the Region meet held at home on Wednesday and Thursday.

"We had a lot of tough competition to deal with but the kids did well on the home track," said Jewkes.

Now a group of CHS athletes will have just a few days left to rest and prepare for the state meet this weekend.

Here are the Dinos athletes and the events they qualified for state:

Girls High Jump: Kayleigh Potts, Abbie Powell and Jayde Moynier;

Girls 1600 M: Rachel Goodrich;

Girls Medley Relay: Diana Olsen, Rachel Goodrich, Paula Gibson and Karina Ivory, alternates Kira Tadehara and Madi Black;

Boys High Jump: Wyatt Hansen;

Boys Spring Medley Relay: Austin Barber, Kyle Barrett, Dallin Quinton and Garrett Marsing, alternates Kaleb Nelson and Devon Day;

Garrett Marsing also qualified for the 800 M, 1600 M and the 3200 M;

Dallin Quinton also qualified for the 100 M, 200 M.
