Letters to the Editor
Is it asking too much?
Lou Sansevero of Ferron uses a great deal of Sun Advocate column space in his letter to the editor (April 9) to get across his nonsense comments concerning gun control. One can only wonder what his feelings would be if one of the poor victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary school in Connecticut had been one of his own children.
Isn't it about time we use some common sense in the situation? Is asking Congress for legislation to strengthen current laws on gun trafficking and straw purchases, increase grants for improvements in school safety, expansion of background checks to nearly every gun purchase and banning high-capacity magazines and military style assault weapons asking too much? Since when did deer and elk hunting start using assault rifles in hunting their prey?
Sad to note, Utah Senator Mike Lee is among the senators threatening to filibuster gun control legislature.
