Three days after bolting from Price Police custody without shoes or a shirt, Manuel Mitcheson, 20, was apprehended by Emery County Sheriff's deputies without incident in Huntington Thursday morning.

According to Price City Police Capt. Bill Barnes, Mitcheson was booked for several offenses after being transported back to Carbon County, including the three warrants which initiated his contact with police earlier this week, burglary and escape.

"He broke into someone's house following the escape and was found hiding there," said Barnes, who had accompanied Emery County Sheriff's Deputies on a search for Mitcheson the night before his arrest. The Price Captain noted that several tips from local residents were key in locating the suspect.

When asked about the suspect's demeanor following his transport back to Carbon County, Barnes commented that Mitcheson was quite and very cooperative.

"I don't know why he ran," said Barnes. "He knew he had been detained, that was clear. I think he just saw an opportunity and went for it."

According to Barnes, Mitcheson was also questioned in connection with an ongoing investigation which could result in additional charges.
