Manuel Mitcheson, who escaped police custody Monday afternoon and fled shoeless and shirtless through northeast Price, was still at large Tuesday.

The 20-year-old burglary suspect evaded a perimeter set up by officers from multiple law enforcement agencies shortly after his escape. He was last seen in the vicinity of 800 North and 800 East Streets. This area of Price is just south of undeveloped desert land and also close to Mead's Wash, a brushy gully that runs north-south through town.

According to Price Police Chief Kevin Drolc, Mitcheson bolted from police headquarters, 910 N. 700 East, at about 3:30 p.m. At 3:36, he entered a nearby home but was chased away by a woman wielding a pair of scissors. He then ran through several backyards and alleys, dropping a black hooded sweatshirt as he ran.

According to the chief, Mitcheson is Hispanic, 5'8", 160 lbs, short black hair, brown eyes, multiple tattoos on neck and arms.

Drolc said the circumstances of the escape are being investigated.

Anyone with information on Mitcheson's whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Price Police Department at 435 636-3190.
