	CARBON COUNTY is requesting proposals for contracted public defender
services in the Carbon County District and Justice courts. The
successful applicant will act as court-appointed counsel to indigent
adults charged with crimes, providing traditional public defender
services such as client consultation, investigation, and
representation during all court proceedings, including trial.

	Carbon County will select the proposal most advantageous to the
County and the public. All proposals shall include a statement as to
the following:

	(1) A monthly fee for which services will be provided, inclusive of
all expenses;
	(2) A description of your office location in Carbon County and
general availability to meet with clients in Carbon County;
	(3) A statement of qualifications, to include experience practicing
criminal law, trial experience, specialized training or abilities,
education, awards, etc.

	All proposals shall be evaluated upon the above qualifications and
upon the applicant's reputation and integrity. Applicants must be in
good standing with the Utah State Bar. Final selection, however, will
not be based solely on the lowest fees proposed. A copy of the
contract to be awarded may be received from the Carbon County
Attorney's Office, 120 East Main, Price, Utah, (435) 636-3704.

	Proposals must be delivered in a sealed envelope clearly marked,
"Carbon County Public Defender Services" to the office of the Carbon
County Clerk/Auditor, 120 East Main Street, Price, Utah 84501 before
5:00 p.m. on March 19, 2013. Carbon County reserves the right to
accept or reject any and all proposals. Proposals will be opened and
considered during the regularly-scheduled meeting of the Carbon County
Commission at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2013.
