Rocky Mountain Power has announced it will match customer contributions to the Lend a Hand program with $2 for every $1 donated. All funds are used to help those in Utah communities who are finding it difficult to cover the cost of necessities such as medicine, food and energy.
"Customers will find donation envelopes in their February statements, making it convenient to contribute to helping neighbors in need," said Alene Bentley, Rocky Mountain Power customer and community manager. "It's a simple way for our customers and employees to participate. Just make out a check to Lend a Hand and mail it in the envelope provided."
Bentley went on to explain that Rocky Mountain Power will then match each dollar of donated funds with an additional $2.
"For example, if a customer donates $20, Rocky Mountain Power will match that with an additional $40, making a total donation of $60 to Lend a Hand," Bentley said.
The funds go directly to provide energy assistance to local households in Utah communities. In addition, customers can donate a fixed dollar amount, starting at $1 per month, through their bill by contacting Rocky Mountain Power customer service at 1-888-221-7070. All donations are tax deductible.
For more than 25 years Rocky Mountain Power, its customers and its employees have supported the Lend a Hand program to help low-income customers who are less fortunate.
