With just two games left before the 3A State Playoffs are set to begin, the Carbon High girls basketball team have their sights set on trying to claim another Region 12 crown.
They will have their final shot to make that a reality as they will host North Sanpete tonight (Feb. 5) at 7 p.m.
The Lady Dinos will then travel to Region 12 leader Delta on Wednesday (Feb. 7) for their final game of the regular season.
If the Dinos get past North Sanpete and Delta defeats Spanish Fork, then the game on Wednesday will be for the Region 12 championship.
The Lady Dinos (14-5 overall, 7-1 Region 12) defeated Juab 42-18 in their last game on Jan. 31.
If their game against Juab is any indication, nothing will come easy for the Carbon High boys basketball team in their final games of the Region 12 season.
After leading by as many as 15 points in the second half, the Dinos survived a late run by Juab before walking away with a tough 61-58 win on Friday night.
Currently the Dinos sit in a tie for third place with Delta in Region 12 with matching records of 3-5.
The Dinos (10-10 overall, 3-5 Region 12) can finish no higher than third place in the region. They can help secure a spot in the 3A playoffs when they face off with North Sanpete in the final home game of the season on Wednesday night (Feb. 6) at 7 p.m. at the CHS Gymnasium.
