Carbon High Boys split week's games in unique fashion

Carbon High senior Dakota Cisneros watches closely on defense during the Dinos' win over Delta. Cisneros led the team with 8 steals in the win and is averaging 3.9 steals per game which leads the state.

The Carbon High Boys Basketball team played one of the their best games of the season in an 80-70 win over Delta last Wednesday.

But they followed that up with a tough 83-33 loss to Payson on the road on Friday night.

In their win over Delta, the Carbon High offense played one of their best games to date scoring a season-high in points.

However against Payson, the offense shot 11-of-42 (26 percent) from the field and 10-of-21 (48 percent) from the free throw line. They also committed 17 turnovers in the loss.

The Dinos (9-9 overall, 2-4 Region 12) will look to bounce back when they host Region 12 leader Spanish Fork on Wednesday evening at 7 p.m.
