A passenger car-pickup truck collision at the intersection of 300 East and 100 North streets in Price Friday night did extensive damage to the vehicles but resulted in only minor injuries to the eight persons involved.
According to a Price police report, the crash happened at about 7:45 p.m., when the southbound Chevrolet S10 truck driven by 66-year-old Robert James Richardson of Price crossed 100 North against the traffic light. A passenger car driven by Emily Robertson, 45, of Price, with one passenger was eastbound on 100 North and was legally proceeding into the intersection.
The passenger side of the truck hit the front end of the car. The impact spun both vehicles almost 180 degrees, so both wound up facing the opposite directions they had been driving. In addition, the truck rolled onto the driver's side.
Rescuers from the Price Fire Department had to climb a stepladder to enter the truck via the passenger door to extricate the driver and five passengers. Police reported only "possible" injuries to both drivers and their passengers.
Richardson was cited for running the red light.
