Sixteen-year-old Dylan Barker, a junior at Carbon High School, shows a few pages of his 4H record book that helped win him a trip to Atlanta, GA recently. Barker was one of only six Utah 4H members to earn the right to to represent the state at the national gathering. Dylan is the son of Michele and Dorrell Barker. His book recorded the progess of his pork and poultry projects on the family farm southeast of Price. It earned him the chance to compete with other students in the state. While in Atlanta, he got to meet 4H-ers from other states during the five-day session. He found the change of scenery interesting, but noted that, "Their city is bigger, but their mountains are like speed bumps to us." Among the workshops and tours he enjoyed were robotics, baking, and a visit to the CNN studio. Dylan said two dances were fun, and he also got to dine at what he called "an extremely formal dinner."
