Leonard stallion wins world honors for second straight year

Darrell and Wendy Leonard's paint "KH Kid-A-Lot" brought home the Solid Paint Bred two year and older stallions award at the Halter Res World Championship Show.

For the second straight year, a local horse has won the Halter Res World Championships. Darrell and Wendy Leonard's paint "KH Kid-A-Lot" brought home the Solid Paint Bred two year and older stallions award at the Halter Res World Championship Show.

According to J.D. Leonard, the horse went up against some of the toughest competition from around the world.

"My parents feel very blessed to be able to own and show horses at the world show. Just two years ago it seemed to be a distant dream but with faith, dedication, a great trainer and a lot of luck the dream has now became reality as KH Kid A Lot is our second horse in as many years to win the World Championship in Fort Worth," said Leonard.

The competition is held annually at the Will Rogers Memorial Complex in Fort Worth, Texas. "KH Kid-A-Lot," is owned by Darrell and Wendy Leonard of East Carbon and trained by Germ Christensen.
