Ann B. O'Brien
PRICE - Ann Brozovich O'Brien, age 92, passed away in the early morning hours of Nov. 28, 2012 at the Heirloom Inn in Price after a courageous battle of cancer.
She was born July 27, 1920 in Dawson, N.M. to Paul and Katarina Malovich Brozovich.
Ann married Harold J. O'Brien (deceased) and John Bene who also preceded her in death.
Ann was a longtime resident of Price and graduate of Carbon High School Class of 1938. After graduation she moved to Salt Lake and enrolled at Stevens-Henager College where she studied business with aspirations of becoming a secretary. After school, Ann landed a secretary job at Cudahy Packing Company in Salt Lake where she worked for the next eight years.
After a couple moves, Ann soon realized that she had enough of the big city life and decided to return to Price to be closer to family. While living in Carbon County, Ann worked for various attorneys in the area before deciding to run for county recorder. In 1962, she was elected as Carbon County Recorder and fulfilled her position faithfully for the next 36 years. In addition to her job as recorder, Ann also served as secretary for the Price River Water Users since 1976.
Ann was a member of the Price United Methodist Church of Price. She was a dedicated and faithful member of the Naomi Chapter # 13 Order of the Eastern Star where she served as Past Worthy Matron and Secretary for 18 years. Ann will be dearly missed by her family and a community of friends.

She is survived by her sons, Doug (Gaylene) O'Brien, David (Shauna) O'Brien, both of Price; grandchildren, Danielle (Bob) Kelez, Dustin O'Brien and Erica O'Brien, all of Salt Lake City; great-grandchildren, Rylee O'Brien, Kaden and Kemry Kelez; brother, John Brozovich, Salt Lake; sisters, Elizabeth (Burl) Schweikart, Douglas, Ariz., Margaret DiLorenzo, Denver, Colo.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Charles and Paul Brozovich; sisters, Josephine "Til" Wheeler and Mary Blackwelder.
Funeral service, Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, 11 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home (233 E. Main Street) Price. Family will be at Mitchell's Friday one hour prior to service. Interment, Price City Cemetery, In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Huntsman Cancer Institute, 2000 Circle of Hope, Salt Lake City, Utah 84112.
