The Boys & Girls Club of Carbon County is an after-school and summer youth development program that caters to ALL youth ages 12-18 or 7th-12th grades. The Club, a program for teens, is currently housed at Mt. Harmon Jr. High and operates Monday-Friday from 3-6 p.m. after-school and 12-4 p.m. Monday - Thursday in the summer.
The Boys & Girls Club of Carbon County [BGCCC] mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens. We provide a fun, safe, supervised environment for educational and recreational activities. The Boys & Girls Club of Carbon County follows the standard programs of the national organization that have proven to be effective in prevention for youth in over 4,300 club locations. BGCCC promotes several core programs including: Character & Leadership Development, Education & Career, Health & Life Skills, The Arts, and Sports, Fitness & Recreation. Current Club activities include Cooking Club, Games Room, Sports & Fitness Activities (Dodge ball, Zumba, Flag Football, Badminton, etc.), Arts & Crafts, Computer Club, Music and Dance Clubs, Torch and Keystone Service Clubs and Community Involvement, Wise Guys and Smart Girls (Life Skills programs), Power Hour Homework/Tutoring, and D2D (Diplomas to Degrees College Readiness Program). BGCCC has recently acquired a facility and is working to renovate the space for our program. This new facility is going to be a huge asset in our sustainability and expansion of programs and services to the community. The facility will allow us to increase opportunities to the teen population as well as begin to provide opportunities for youth ages 6-12 in Carbon County. We are looking forward to this transition and the opportunity to serve and impact more youth in Carbon County.
