Dinos score first but Payson responds with 34 unanswered points in win

In their final home game of the season, the Carbon High Dinos football team pulled out all of the stops but came up short in the end as Payson handed the Dinos a 34-8 loss last Friday night.

The Dinos couldn't have asked for a better start to the game. Senior Jordan Blanc was pitched the ball for a halfback pass but found no one open as the pocket began to collapse around him. Blanc took the ball and rushed all around the Payson defense for a 37-yard touchdown run. A two-point conversion by quarterback Dakota Cisneros gave the Dinos an early 8-0 lead. It was the first rushing touchdown of the season for Carbon High.

Payson didn't let the score faze them as they answered with three straight touchdowns in the first quarter to take the lead which they would not relinquish.

Payson added two more touchdowns in the second half to seal the 34-8 win.

The Dinos will finish the 2012 season tomorrow night as they travel to take on Juab with the game scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
