EAST CARBON - Our loving wife, mother, grandmother and longtime friend, Christine Charlene Combs Houser, age 81, passed away Sept. 26, 2012 at her home.

She was born Dec. 21, 1930 in Norwood, Colo., to Charles and Estella Majors Combs.

On July 26, 1949, she married the love of her life Delmas "Dee" Houser in Montrose, Colo. and shortly thereafter the family moved to the East Carbon.

Chris was a member of the East Carbon Community Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher for years. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, jig saw puzzles and word searches. Her home was a gathering place for all and her collection of bells brought great joy to everyone. Chris loved to dance and was an avid reader of books. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survived by her husband, Dee, East Carbon; sons, Terry, Price, Nick (Karen), Cedar City, Michael James, Salt Lake City; sister, Billie (Don) Engberg, Delta, Colo; three grandchildren, Amy, Rhionna and Adam; great-grandchildren, KateLynn and Kayden.

Chris was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Juanita Hixon; brother, Charles Combs; and daughter-in-law, Coella Houser.

Funeral service, Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, 11 a.m., East Carbon Community Church. Family will receive friends at Mitchell Funeral Home (233 E. Main Street-Price) Tuesday evening from 6 - 7 p.m. and at the church in East Carbon Wednesday one hour prior to service. Interment, Cliffview Cemetery, Price.
