PRICE - Our loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt, Iola Mae Olsen Rutherford, age 79, passed away peacefully at Castleview Hospital on Sept. 9, 2012.
She was born July 17, 1933 in Price to Hyrum and Ada Noyes Olsen.
On April 12, 1951, she married the love of her life Donald Rutherford. They shared thirty wonderful years, having four children together before his passing in Feb. 1981. They were later sealed in the Provo LDS Temple on Oct. 17, 1991.
Our mother was a feisty, fun loving woman whom you couldn't help but love. She loved her family and they were the center of her world. She would always brag about her grand and great grandchildren. Mom was a wonderful cook and was known for her famous apple pies and delicious lasagna. She loved to tend to her yard keeping it beautiful all the time, but her roses were her favorite.
Iola loved taking long walks all around town, which always ended with a Pepsi seated comfortably in her chair watching lifetime movies. She was an excellent housekeeper for many years and always had a waiting list of people wanting to hire her. Iola was giving, caring and very dedicated in everything she did. Later in life she loved to do word searches and if there ever was a competition she would have won the gold. Mother will be forever missed and her memory will live in our hearts forever.
She is survived by her children, Donald (Doris) Rutherford, Columbia, Mo.; Brenda Lofley, Wellington; Randy Rutherford, California, Mo.; her only surviving sister, Margie (Terry) Byrge, Carbonville; 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, Hyrum and Ada Noyes Olsen; husband, Donald Rutherford, Sr.; brothers, Max Dean, Howard, Raymond and Kay Olsen; sisters, Eva Chavez and Berniece Parry.
"This is not goodbye, It's a see you later."
