Cisneros keeps Grantsville batters in check as Helper offense provides plenty of support in 8-0 win

The Helper American Legion Baseball started its pursuit of a state championship with an 8-0 victory over Grantsville on Saturday in their first game of the 2012 American Legion Baseball State Tournament.

Helper head coach Jeff Cisneros said the Helper offense awoke in the latter part of the game. In the last two innings, Seth Tryon had a double in the sixth and scored the team's first run on a single by Derek Young. The offense put together multiple hits in the seventh inning as Young added a run-scoring triple in the seventh.

Pitcher Dakota Cisneros took a no-hitter in the sixth inning giving up only two hits while striking out nine Grantsville batters in his complete game win for Helper.

Helper played against Taylorsville on Monday night. The result of that game and stats will be in Thursday's Sun Advocate.
