CLEAR CREEK - Lillie Ella Erkkila Woolsey, age 92, passed away June 19, 2012 at Castleview Hospital in Price.

Lillie was born Feb. 27, 1920 in Clear Creek and was the last surviving child of thirteen born to John August Erkkila and Ida Lidia Kangas

On April 17, 1942 she married Myron Benjamin Woolsey in Price. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Oakland LDS Temple while they were residing in California.

Lillie was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. During her lifetime, she fulfilled numerous positions in California and Utah including Relief Society President, Primary and Sunday School Teacher. Lillie often stated "that the church is my life" and she was honored to serve in all capacities.

Grandma Lillie dedicated her life to the care of others and she was always finding ways to help her dear friends. She loved dancing, singing, poetry and writing tributes for special occasions. Her family and friends were an important part of her life and she was blessed to have such a wonderful family in Clear Creek and Scofield. Lillie will be dearly missed by all and she leaves behind a legacy that will be cherished forever.

She is survived by her son, John R. Woolsey, Wellington; sister-in-law, Melba Erkkila, Scofield; five grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and many loving nieces, nephews and friends who will miss her dearly.

Lillie is preceded in death by her parents, husband, seven brothers, Niilo, Bill, Sulo, Walt, Eino, Roland, John; sisters, Elma, Bertha, Elsie and two infant siblings.

Funeral service, Friday, June 22, 2012, 1 p.m., Helper LDS Stake Center, (150 Ridgeway) Helper. Family will be at Mitchell Funeral Home Thursday evening from 7 - 8 p.m. and the church Friday one hour prior to service. Interment, Mt. View Cemetery, Helper. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price where friends are welcome daily and may share memories of Lillie at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
