The Black Diamond Legends PRCA Rodeo returns

Black Diamond Legends Rodeo June 1st and 2nd

WELCOME to the Black Diamond Legends Rodeo - The Return of a Legend. The Black Diamond Rodeo dates from approximately 1948 when the Robbers Roost Roundup became the Black Diamond Stampede under the stewardship of the Carbon County Sheriff's Posse. Carbon County's professional rodeo continued with the sponsorship of the Carbon County Chamber of Commerce until 2003. The Black Diamond returned in 2007 as the Black Diamond Legends Rodeo.

The Black Diamond Legends PRCA Rodeo returns again this year on June 1st and 2nd at the Carbon County Fairgrounds. The performances will begin at 7:30 p.m. each evening. Mutton Bustin, for junior cowboys and cowgirls, will be held each evening prior to the rodeo performances at 6:30 p.m. Sign up for the young wranglers begins at 6:00 p.m. each evening. Riders must be between the ages of 3 and 8 and weigh less than 60 pounds. There will be a limit of 10 riders per night and a parent or guardian must sign a release form and be present during the event. Participants must furnish and wear a sturdy helment with straps and wear appropriate shoes (no open toed shoes or sandals will be allowed.

Advance Tickets are available at JB's of Price. Advance prices are $5 for children, $8 for adults, and family passes for $25. Prices at the gate are $7 for children, $10 for adults and $30 for the family pass.

Roughstock contractors Pat and Juanita O'Maley, Slash T ProRodeo of Gooding, Idaho, will be providing a top pen of broncs, bulls and roping stock to compete against a tough lineup of professional cowboys

Kevin Higley, professional rodeo clown and barrelman entertainer from Hooper, Utah, has been clowning around for over 25 years and has been entertaining crowds all over the Northwest from the Canadian border to the Mexico border and also Hawaii. Kevin's acts include Hollywood Tex and John, World's Funniest Magic Sonic Wash, White Lightning - Newest Compact Car, Dipstick the barrel racing dog, and many other acts.

The Black Diamond Legends Rodeo Queen for 2012 is Marki Rudman of Cleveland. First addendant is Sierra Howard of Price, and second attendant is Lacy Jo Funk of Elmo. They will receive scholarships from USU/CEU Eastern, a big thank you to them.

Pink Night is Friday June 1st . Get your friends and family together to pool your donations, we will have a booth under the Grandstand to accept donations. Money will be donated to the PERKIE Bus program at Active Re-entry for transportation of cancer patients to treatment in Utah County.
