Robert Kouba

Robert Kouba

PRICE - Robert Kouba, passed away May 12, 2012 while celebrating his 64th birthday at the home of some special new Utah friends.

Robert's nickname was "Hammer", a name given to him from childhood by parents that had immigrated to the United States from Russia. Little is known about the birthplace and life of Hammer before he came to Price.

Those who knew him best could sense that there was a deep sense of regret for things that had happened in his earlier life. He seemed to be doing everything that he could to make up for the past by befriending and loving parents and children who in many instances were down on their luck. He used his own money on many instances to help a parent, or brighten the day of a child.

He became a substitute father for some children and a loving grandfather figure for many others. Robert was a hard worker, and could fix almost anything. Many People young and old relied on him for simple acts of kindness.

He was tough and firm when appropriate and kind and gentle the rest of the time. He had a wonderful sense of humor, and used this humor to lighten the daily load of those who needed a lifting hand.

He was doing his best to fulfill the admonition that "When you are in the service of your fellow men, you are in the service of your God."

He was considered a dear family member by many, and will be dearly missed.

Per Hammer's request there will be no services. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home where friends may share memories of Hammer at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
