CHS boys tennis team showing heart despite tough losses

"We weren't able to win any matches or sets, but we did win some games and I saw some progress, especially for our doubles teams," said Carbon High boys tennis coach Pete Riggs about the team's performance against Spanish Fork on April 16.

Riggs said the team is a very"young" team, in the sense that there are only 4-5 players who have had experience playing prior to the beginning of this year. No overall team victories. There have been some individual victories. Riggs said he has been trying different things with the line-up to hopefully get better results.

One of our best opportunities for a team victory will come this Thursday, when we have Delta come to town. We have already played Delta and lost, but won quite a few games and played well despite the loss. I think that if our players will be a little bit more aggressive, we will have a good chance to post our first team victory.
