A food drive put on by the Boy Scouts helped bring in 8,321 pounds of food to the shelves of the Carbon County Food Bank, according to program manager Collette Freestone.
While the amount came up short compared to the food drive last year which brought in 10,000 pounds, every bit of food will be put to good use, Freestone said.
The Boy Scouts food drive is one of the many local drives that go to help stock the shelves of the food bank. While there is not a current food drive going on at the moment, that doesn't mean food isn't being collected. Freestone said the Food Bank is always accepting money donations and food donations which can be brought to the Food Bank, 75 N. 300 E. in Price.
